Personally I find the combination of high status chance and multishot ideal for Acrid. Also, since the darts are quite quick the flight speed negative on the first mod isn't really such a bad drawback. (darts fly slower like arrows, but since acrid is 100% pinpoint accurate it's easy to land shots.)
