Unfortunately it had the problem noted in recent posts - the safety lever was stuck in the off position. Using the lever I would use as a right hand person, it would not budge. The problem is that P365 action is not very smooth to begin with. Sig used a very stiff spring on a 9mm to slam the slide back into battery. 380 spring is weaker, so the action needs to be smoother to function properly.The 365 is a small pistol and the short recoil spring can be stiff until broken in. Put a bunch of rounds through it and it will start to loosen up. And the slide release will be easier as well. Jul 28, 2019 · Older thread, but a topic I was searching for. I've got a P365, P365XL, and a P320 X5 Legion. The slide catch lever does release on all three with an empty mag inserted. It was more difficult at first but got easier as more rounds were fired through it like others have experienced.
This is a very common issue caused by fiddling with the FCU and leaving one of several candidate pieces out of position. More often than not the Takedown Safety Lever is the culprit. It could also be the slide catch lever spring, but first you need to get the slide off to tell. Look at post #26 in this thread.
