late response, but for anyone still wondering, the plugin ShowHiddenChannels only works because discord, for whatever reason, stores the fact that these hidden channels exist, client-sided. Furthermore, the only thing the plugin does is let you see that these channels exist, and if it is a voicechat, let you see who is in said voicechat.
