Fun and Games. My foster mom got me a bright red Volkswagen Jetta from 2003 for my 18th birthday! Anyways, i'm so excited! This is literally life changing for me, she needs a great name to go with how amazing she is (the car). Thinking of ladybug, roxanne or strawberry right now because she's tiny & red.

Just to check if the vehicle was serviced enough and the engine is in good check. Also about your price range, a 9k dollar budget should get you a good condition mk4. They usually go for anywhere between the range of 5,500-8,500 and a few alittle higher in price. Good luck mate.595. 337. r/Volkswagen • 27 days ago. Picked this up for 150$ on the spot. Owner is flakey about it though. What should I do with it? He claims its just a fuel pump and battery but obviously a lot more to get it roadworthy. Been sitting for about 15 years. 236.There are no engine options throughout the line. I went from an 2020 SE-R line Tiguan to a 2021 Jetta S and I was afraid that I would miss all of the above mentioned features, and to be completely honest I don’t miss them at all except for the leather wrapped steering wheel. Although the Tiguan had an analog instrument cluster also. So the 1.8t jetta engine sport is a turbocharged engine. Like the tsi of the Jetta stands for Turbo Stratum Infused, and turbocharged engines run better with premium fuel i read. I just want to treat this car the best I can!

All 2014's except for the base engine came with multi-link rear suspension, so they weren't AS big of pieces of shit as their predecessors, but it still a cheapo car designed for rental car companies. The are priced accordingly. Personally, I wouldn't touch one. Budgeting from 7,000-9,000 for my first car!louisguccifendiprada • 6 mo. ago. i'd say yes but A. scratches and B. people would think you're trying to make it look like a Jetta with a pano roof because they're judgmental. either way, it'll look sexy so i say go for it with caution and make sure you go to a reputable shop or else it'll look horrible.

Found a mk1 golf gti in excellent condition. And has been heavily modified for 500whp and has a 1992 2.0L 16 Valve engine. My first VW.. doesn't really compare to what I've seen on this sub but damn, I'm already in love and hope to make it even better in the future. So much fun to drive.

Hi, I've been on the look for affordable OBD2 reader for DIY purposes. The ones I'm deciding on are the Autel maxiap200 and the Carista. They both seem to be giving lots of features for the price. Downside (of both) is they have a type of subscription to use the full functions, so can't really decide.Hello, hoping to get some advice between these two - looking at new and base auto trim on both (Comfortline Jetta and Mazda3 GX, in Canada). Sat in both and test drove the Jetta - I like the overall space more in the Jetta, but Mazda3 seems to offer nicer tech at a similar price point.Just got a new Jetta! 1 / 3. r/jetta. Join. • 6 days ago. I recently installed this trunk lip, I’ve got mixed feelings about it honestly. Most of the time you need a dash kit, harness, antenna adapter and from there it's usually soldering the harness to the one that comes with the radio. A lot of audio shops can also solder the plug up for you. From there it's all plug and play. Crutchfield is always the way to go.

Is a Volkswagen Jetta a reliable car? Now obviously RELIABLE means a lot of things. Basically were thinking if purchasing a Volkswagen jetta 1.8t Sport or se with connectivity. After looking online it seems like Vw jettas have a lot of problems. I was wanted to get some input from my fellow redditors that own one. Are you satisfied?

Jetta was faster than the NC, and at first the ND1. But now with the ND2 update, the Mazda is faster for sure. They also slowed the Jetta down a couple of years ago, as with so many updates, it had crept significantly faster than the real car (even by iRacing standards). The Mx5 is not faster by much though, so fast Jettas do wind up faster ...What’s interesting is how much discrepancy there is. I think it highlights how weak the engine is without turbo spooling. Weird that they were able to make the Jetta feel more expensive than it is, yet made the Mk8 GTI feel cheaper than it is.... 0-60 in 7 despite a piddly 158hp is impressive, beating the Si. Overall comparing the Jetta to it's rivals I do believe it's a good value. Most cars in this price range do not have a panoramic roof, rain sensing wipers, heated washer nozzles, heated steering wheel and rear seats, full exterior LED lights other than front turn signals and fog lights, wireless carplay (2020+ models).IDK if this is just me, but every Volkswagen I have driven (Tiguan, Jetta, Golf) have had piss-poor throttle response and steering. It's like you push down the pedal and the computer is just like nah. The electric steering feels gross to me as well. This is coming from an 08 Acura TL though, which has hydraulic steering.Warranty repairs make them money, they WANT to find things to fix. If VW says it's normal, then it's normal. Cars make noises. I drove a '19 Jetta as a loaner for a 1.5 months, I heard the noise they describe. The engine is at extremely low rpms and a high gear, of course you will hear more noise.

VWs other than the GTI and Golf R plummet in value, and Hyundai was recently rated a top brand for expected resale value. A used Kia's also much more likely to still have some warranty left. Right now, between a Jetta and a Forte, it's probably a coin toss on resale value but reliability's probably better on the Kia.Like a check engine light, but more sensitive and specific to VW (the check engine light is usually government regulation related). Normally when the EPC light is on power is greatly reduced, but you indicate that is not the case so I don't know what to think. It is possible that your adventures you described disconnected a sensor or damaged ...The primary purpose of the timing belt or timing chain is to maintain the timing (syncronization) between the crankshaft and the camshaft (s). A timing belt is made of a rubber compound while a timing chain is made of chain similiar to a bicycle chain. A timing belt wears out over time and must be replaced at the manufacturer's specified interval. There’s more to life than what meets the eye. Don't void your special 6 year warranty with the 2019 model year by trying to make an economy car fast. VW already bumped the 1.4T torque up to 184 ft-lbs stock. That's quite a lot from such a small displacement. My wife has this car and it drives very nicely, plenty of zip around town. In the US, the mk6 is a much simpler vehicle than the mk5. They both have the 2.5l (until mid-2014), the transmissions are effectively the same also. The front suspension/subframe is not interchangable, but effectively the same. The mk6 rear suspension could be independent, but most 2.5L cars have a beam.It impressed us enough to get one and we haven't regretted it. (2016 ex-t coupe, 1.5t+cvt). Cars that hold value well and cost less in maintenence are going to typically be Honda, Toyota, and Subaru. Here's from my experience: You'll find the manual likely says every 10k miles. However, you will also find: When breaking in a brand new engine it consumes oil at a slightly faster rate.
