Note that you can found several holy orders with one ruler. The order headquarters needs to be outside of your capital kingdom, then you grant the governing kingdom to someone else.

The character that creates the holy order doesnt get a trait for them or the family, something shared for all dynasty members like a permanent holy warrior or an event chain. Not even becoming a saint especially the patron saint of the order. Just a money sink unless they are germanic and there to protect your captial while you are raiding

You have to re-lease that holding via decision once you take the land. Then you can revoke the lease and that holy order goes away.
