Yes, but they aren't being ridden, are they. You can have fliers FOLLOW you, you just can't ride them. The reason is that flying makes it too easy, but then, irrationally, you CAN ride a Bat, because that's a Cave creature.... but so are the fliers living down there. To find the portal teleport room, you will need to go to the portal cave. The cave entrance can be found at coordinates 40.2 and 57.7. It is located in the middle of the map. You will see a river on the left side of the cave. You can use this river as a landmark.
