Let it drain completely because 90% of us will be refilling both the transfer case & rear diff with full syn 75W90 (transfer case fill plug will refer to 85W90 or similar dino gear oil). While you let drain, replace crush washers on both plugs with new crush washers (Toyota part# 12157-10010 - $1.10 each at my local dealer).Step 1 - Loosen lugs and jack rear end up. Before you lift your truck, break free the wheel lugs. Chock the front wheels in the front and the back of each tire. Use a hydraulic floor jack and lift the rear end of the truck. Use jack stands on each side, right under the axle on either side of the differential. Lower the truck onto the jack stands.

I did this on my 2016 at about 5,000 miles. FWIW, I did my diffs at about 15k. The rear was almost new looking and front was disgusting, I was quite shocked actually.
