This is a big change, and a lot of people will prefer the vanilla map style. It's fine as a submod. Never understood the appeal of all-in-one mods. Keeping it modular is monumentally better. Integrating mods is better for compatibility, but it's not good at all for player choice. Yeah, i was going to mention that in my original comment as well.
